L’ORIGEN DELS MALLORQUINS

Presentació de la reedició del llibre L’origen dels mallorquins, de l’editorial el Tall, a càrrec de l’editor i catedràtic emèrit de la UIB Josep Juan Vidal, conjuntament amb seu autor Onofre Vaquer. Acollirem l’acte el dimarts 18 de juny a les 20 h .

Aquest llibre vol ser una obra de divulgació que contesti preguntes que la gent que no és historiadora fa sovint. D’on venim els mallorquins? D’on ve el meu llinatge? Quina és la identitat dels mallorquins? Fou la conquesta de 1229 un tall? No restà població anterior? S’analitzen els pobladors i repobladors de diverses èpoques, sense faltar-hi els esclaus, fins a arribar als immigrants de finals del segle XX i principis del XXI. Veurem que als mallorquins se’ls anomena catalans a l’edat mitjana.
